Dear yachting enthusiasts,

I am Cheon Young-gee, the Mayor of Tongyeong. It gives me immense pleasure to extend a wholehearted welcome to all the athletes and officials, both from our own nation and abroad, who have gathered here for the "18th Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race." We are thrilled to host this event in Tongyeong, the thriving hub of the South Sea Coast's maritime tourism belt.

We extend our deep gratitude to all those who have shown great interest in this competition. Our sincere thanks go to Minister Yu In-chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Congressman Jeong Jeom-sig, Governor Park Wan-soo of Gyeongsangnam-do, Chairman Park Bum-kyu of the Korea Sailing Federation, and everyone involved in the event's organization, including Chairman Lee Sang-seok of the Gyeongsangnam-do Sailing Federation.

The Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race, which symbolizes Tongyeong as a city of maritime leisure sports, has now firmly established itself as one of the top three yachting events in Asia, serving as a driving force for regional development.

Moreover, our city of Tongyeong is an ideal location for engaging in maritime leisure activities, with an environment that is second to none. Year after year, we host international yacht competitions such as the Korea Southern Coast Cup International Yacht Race, the Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race, and the Tongyeong World Triathlon Cup, propelling our city's transformation into a global hub for maritime leisure sports.

Tongyeong City has made significant strides in catering to yachting enthusiasts by establishing yacht mooring facilities at ten locations, spanning both the mainland and nearby islands. Furthermore, we are making vigorous efforts to elevate our status as a focal point within the South Sea Coast's maritime tourism belt. Initiatives like the ongoing construction of the Tongyeong Marina Biz Center and the development of a comprehensive maritime leisure tourism city underline our commitment to this endeavor.

To the domestic and international yachting athletes and their families, In this competition that will unfurl the cobalt-colored waters of Tongyeong with the colorful sails, I hope it becomes a spectacular regatta enjoyed by all, celebrating the joy of yachting.

I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to make safety a top priority during your stay, and take the time to appreciate the rich history and culture of Tongyeong, a city known for its vibrant art scene and the presence of numerous talented artists. To yachting athletes and officials, both domestic and international, who have a deep love for the sea, welcome. I extend my sincere greetings to all of you who have come to participate in the "18th Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race," taking place in Tongyeong, where the spirit of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, a national hero, dwells, and the sea of triumph graces us with its presence.

I would like to express my deep gratitude to all those who have worked tirelessly from all sides to ensure the successful organization of this competition. My heartfelt thanks go to Minister Yu In-chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism,Governor, Park Wan-soo of Gyeongsangnam-do, Congressman Jeong Jeom-sig, Mayor Cheon Young-Gee of Tongyeong, Chairwoman Kim Mi-ok of the Tongyeong City Council, and Chairman Park Bum-kyu of the Korea Sailing Federation, among others, who have been actively involved in the event.

Furthermore, I would like to extend my gratitude to the organizing committee members, including Chief Ju Yong-hyun of the Tongyeong Maritime Police, Chief Kim Myung-sang of Tongyeong Police Station, who have made utmost effort in ensuring the secure and smooth progression of the competition.

The "Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race," now celebrating its 18th edition, has firmly established itself as South Korea's premier yachting event. Held on the very sea where the historic Battle of Hansan took place, this significant competition not only pays tribute to Admiral Yi Sun-sin and the Battle of Hansan but also serves as a beacon for the marine tourism industry, promoting it on a global scale.
