I extend a warm welcome to all of you. It is with profound joy that we celebrate the hosting of the "18th Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race" in the rich and picturesque land of Tongyeong, which revolves around islands and the sea.
First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to those who have tirelessly dedicated their efforts to the expansion of marine leisure tourism and the promotion of maritime sports. I extend my gratitude to Governor Park Wan-soo of Gyeongsangnam-do, Mayor Cheon Young-gee of Tongyeong, and Chairman Lee Sang-seok of the Gyeongsangnam-do Sailing Federation for their wholehearted efforts in preparing for this event. Furthermore, I extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to both domestic and international yachting enthusiasts who have chosen to visit Tongyeong. You are greeted with open arms by the citizens of Tongyeong.

Dear residents of Tongyeong,
To the participants and officials from around the world who have come to Tongyeong to illuminate the grand festival on the spectacular sea, the "Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race," welcome. I am Jeong Jeom-sig, a Member of the National Assembly, representing Tongyeong and Goseong County in Gyeongsangnam-do.
To begin with, I find it profoundly meaningful that the "18th Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race" is taking place in Tongyeong, known as a global hub for marine leisure tourism.
Additionally, I would like to express my gratitude to Governor Park Wan-so of Gyeongsangnam-do, Mayor Cheon Young-gee of Tongyeong, and Chairwoman Kim Mi-ok of Tongyeong City Council for their invaluable support and presence at this event, despite their demanding schedules. I also extend my thanks to Park Bum-kyu, the Chairman of the Korea Sailing Federation, and Lee Sang-seok, the Chairman of Gyeongsangnam-do Sailing Federation, along with Laura Ayres, the CEO of Clipper Ventures, and all other individuals involved. Their passion and dedication have not only contributed to the smooth preparation of the competition but have also been instrumental in advancing the popularization of yachting and boosting the yachting industry.
The "Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race,“ which is unfolding in the waters where the pivotal Battle of Hansan occurred, stands as one of Asia's top three yachting events and a global extravaganza for yachting enthusiasts worldwide.
To all the participating athletes, I wish for you to unleash the skills you have tirelessly refined and attain the excellent results you have aimed for. Furthermore, I hope this event serves as a meaningful platform for promoting camaraderie and solidarity among athletes from various countries.
To all the teams and athletes who have joined us for this event, Tongyeong is a place of remarkable natural beauty, renowned as South Korea's top destination for seafood and tourism. It is a haven filled with captivating islands and offers a wide array of fresh and delectable culinary treasures.
During these remarkable moments, my wish is that you not only experience a deep sense of fulfillment for the dedication you have invested but also relish the distinctive allure of Tongyeong. May you forge delightful memories that you will treasure in the years ahead.
Furthermore, on the occasion of the Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race, I hope that Tongyeong can continue its growth, evolving into a global hub for the marine leisure industry, not just within South Korea but across the world.
I, for my part, am fully dedicated to extending our utmost attention and support, ensuring that the South Sea coastal region of our country, with Tongyeong at its heart, can truly flourish as a key center for marine leisure in Northeast Asia.
